Palisades Tahoe's Aerial Tram is a wonderful way to see the sights of the area. A two-towered ride that takes about 7 minutes to climb 2,000 vertical feet, the cable car brings groups of people up over the mountains in a heated cabin. With just a few swings as the cabin passes the towers and a smooth entry into the loading and unloading bay and guests arrive magically at what is said to be the eighth wonder of the world, High Camp. High Camp offers summer roller skating, dining and drinks as well as great views of Lake Tahoe. This is also the easiest way for beginners to access their type of terrain when skiing in the winter. In the spring High Camp also opens up a heated swimming pool and hot tub that remain open during the summer. The tram also gives people an excellent way to hike the upper elevations without having to put the work in. The cable car closes down for maintenance in the fall. Note that due to COVID, the aerial tram might not be offering Scenic Ride Trips and is open for skiing only. Call ahead to check on the status.
