Crest Cafe and Catering is superbly located to grab a quick bite to eat while heading to or from either Palisades Tahoe or Alpine Meadows. It's situated on the corner of Highway 89 leading to Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows Road leading to Alpine as well as next to various excellent mountain biking trails. The cafe gives riders, skiers and snowboarders well-priced, locally sourced, homemade food such as breakfast burritos, tri-tip mango wraps, baked meatball grinders, pizza, baked goods and microbrews. The restaurant also offers a small outdoor eating area that is next to the Truckee River, giving an enjoyable natural ambiance. Crest Cafe does a few specials that are locals' favorites such as their Thursday Sushi nights offering $5 hand rolls or their daily Happy Hour that starts at 1 p.m. and lasts until closing.
