What's all that squawking?There are lots of types of noisy neighbors, both human and wildlife. If it sounds like a bird, it could be a Steller's Jay. Loud, and beautiful, these birds are easy to spot with the naked eye with their rich blue feathers including a black back and head with a diagnostic crest.

This ubiquitous bird can be found in forests, parks, and backyards throughout the region. They are often busy looking for food bouncing around the ground and flying into low tree branches. And if you're eating outside, be mindful of your food as these opportunistic birds can be aggressive and have been known to snatch food off picnic tables and even right out of your hand. While they might be noisy, they can be quite fun to watch once you get to know them.

There's nothing quite like the excitement of opening a gift - the anticipation, the wondering what's inside, and the joy when it is finally revealed. The good news with DL Bliss State Park reopening in May 2026 is that we know what's inside.

However, the anticipation and the joy when that day finally comes are tantalizing our senses, and we can't wait to share in the excitement with everyone next year.
