Be one of the first knowledgeable and friendly faces park visitors meet as our Visitor Center Ambassador ($23/hour), or provide engaging tours at the historical Pine Lodge and/or Vikingsholm Castle as a Tour Guide ($26/hour).

Housing may be available, as well as an end-of-season bonus. Training is provided, and we'll be conducting rolling interviews.

Great news! The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California announced that it has completed the purchase of more than 10,000 acres of ancestral land in the Sierra Nevada, marking the largest tribal land return ever completed in the mountain range and the third largest in California. 🌄

Tribal leaders and conservation partners said the acquisition restores ecologically significant Washoe homelands to tribal ownership and represents a major step toward addressing generations of displacement.

Here's some more Winter Olympics History: According to the race requirements established by the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS), the dukMéʔem wáťa (formerly known as General Creek) area in Sugar Pine Point State Park was significantly modified in 1958 and 1959.

The Sixth Army, encamped nearby, built roads and target ranges and cleared the trails 16-20 feet wide. The soldiers built five log and cable bridges to span dukMéʔem wáťa.

Timing and aid shacks were placed every 5 kilometers; the shacks were linked with telephone cable. The work was done before winter set in, so the courses could be raced without danger, even with very little snow.
