This in no way, however, detracts from the beauty of the location as it is in a high-altitude meadow set up against the rugged mountain scenery. The Tahoe Symphony Orchestra is on a mission to raise awareness and appreciation of classical orchestral and choral music in the greater Reno-Tahoe area by bringing quality, affordable live performances to intimate, local venues and providing an opportunity for accomplished, Tahoe-area musicians to display and develop their talents. Upcoming concerts include Handel's Messiah and Holiday Favorites in December 2024, EPIC with Guest Soloist in February 2025 and a concert opera in the spring of 2025. Founded in 2005 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit musical arts organization, the Tahoe Symphony has a worldwide footprint, having performed shows around the globe, including Italy, Salzburg-Prague, Slovakia/Hungary, southern France and more. Those younger than age 23 always get in free, and a senior’s discount is available for all shows.
