If there is a way to blend New York and Lake Tahoe, Vinny's Pizzeria has done it. These are delicious New York–style pies but made to satisfy the hunger that hits you after a day of high-altitude activity. The dough and sauces are made in-house, the meats come from South Lake Tahoe's own Overland Meats, and the submarine sandwich breads are from nearby Truckee Sourdough. Plus they serve an ice cream from just over the hill in Minden, and they carry craft beers. In addition to house specialty pizzas and build-your-own pizzas, the menu includes pasta dinners, sub sandwiches, calzones, salads and more, and the daily happy hour offers up specials on beers, wines and appetizers. Vinny's is located right where Pioneer Trail meets Lake Tahoe Boulevard and is next to the Naked Fish restaurant.
