If your dog is your best friend, Kiva Beach is for you. Kiva Beach, a part of the U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, is one of the few beaches where dogs are welcome, though they still must be on leashes, per El Dorado County leash law. Kiva sits between the Taylor Creek Visitor Center and Tallac Historic Site. There are restrooms and picnic tables. Campfires (wood, charcoal or any other solid fuels) are not permitted. Portable stoves with on/off switches or valves are allowed with a valid permit.
