By foot, Boaters Beach is reached via the same trail system that accesses Chimney Beach, Secret Cove, Whale Beach and Creek Beach. The trailhead starts at the free public parking about 2.6 miles south of Sand Harbor on Highway 28. The hike begins as a steep downhill and then quickly levels off. When it flattens out, take the trail to the left (right will take you to Chimney Beach). Walk for nearly a mile, passing nudist beach Secret Cove. Boaters Beach is easily accessed via boats, so chances are on a hot summer day the beach will be filled with those who came via motorboat. This stretch of sand is a beautiful example of fine Lake Tahoe beaches. There are no services or garbage cans. Please pack out anything that you packed in. Dogs are welcome at Boaters Beach.
