Blue Dog Gourmet Pizza is a Tahoe original, from the logo of a giant azure canine howling at the moon from atop Mount Tallac to the wide selection of gourmet pizza combos and the build-your-own pizzas. There are now two Blue Dog locations. For both sites, if you’re dining in you should plan on calling ahead for reservations (an hour ahead will do for most parties, but if you have more than 30 in your group, give yourself some additional lead time). Otherwise, they have an online ordering system for delivery or take-out. The Midtown location is the one from which Blue Dog offers delivery and is in central South Lake Tahoe, a stand-alone business about halfway between Al Tahoe and Tahoe Keys, with a fenced-off outside dining area available. The Stateline location is tucked over on the very back end of the Raley’s Village Center near the forest.
