Remember the old movies where the British gentlemen would all gather at the Explorer's Club and swap tales of adventure, like in the beginning of Around the World in 80 Days? These boutique hotels are both bike-friendly and snow-gear-friendly. There is also a public courtyard and beer garden onsite, plus plenty of decks for relaxation and friendly conversation and a lobby bar exclusively for hotel guests. The Basecamp company says it best when they describe the properties as providing rustic ruggedness with a modern edge.
