One way to experience Lake Tahoe as the rich and famous do (or at least how we imagine they do) is to stay at one of the lakeside resorts. The Aston Lakeland Village Beach & Mountain Resort is located very nearly right in the center of South Shore on some 19 acres of woods and beach. They even have a pier that stretches out onto the lake in addition to outdoor heated pools, a wading pool, hot tubs, a sauna, an exercise facility and tennis courts. In the winter, there is an on-site ski shop, guest use of snowshoes and shuttle service to Heavenly, while in the summer, they have a kid's camp on the beach and kayak and paddleboat rentals. Given the location, the Lakeland Village is a great spot for weddings. They have their very own lakefront beach venue, and the Pavilion Deck overlooking the lake is a wonderful reception area.
