Near the base of Kingsbury Grade on the Carson Valley side of the mountain is a resort that takes full advantage of the area's geothermal properties. 1862 David Walley's Hot Springs Resort boasts five natural hot springs pools, two outdoor swimming pools and a fitness center. Fine dining is offered at the 1862 Restaurant and Saloon, and a quick breakfast or lunch can be found at Hariet's Cafe. Other resort amenities include a business center, laundry facilities, free WiFi, bike rentals and a playground. The on-site spa is quite elaborate and offers services from facial treatments and massages to body wraps/scrubs and nail services; there is even a Vichy shower treatment available.
