North Tahoe Beach is a large offering for free public access to Lake Tahoe and includes parking. Almost 3 acres with nearly 600 feet of shoreline, the park has a multitude of amenities to offer. There are three beach volleyball courts, a horseshoe pit (although you do need to bring your own horseshoes), barbecue grills and picnic tables available for use. For large parties of up to 90 people, there is a group picnic area with an over-sized grill, a covered eating area and cold running water. The group area is on a reservation system managed through the Special Events Office of California State Parks, and there are public bathrooms as well. The park offers both sandy beaches and a large grass area with shaded seating on benches that look out over the water.
