Historic Venue in South Lake Tahoe, CA
Welcome to Valhalla Tahoe, a historic cultural venue on the shores of South Lake Tahoe. We’re dedicated to bringing the community together to experience history, art, music, theater, and cultural events at one of Lake Tahoe's most unique properties.
The Space
Valhalla Tahoe has three event settings: the Grand Hall, the Boathouse Theater, and the Grand Lawn. Built in 1924, the Grand Hall features intricate woodwork, a 20-foot-tall stone fireplace, and panoramic lakeside views. It's an unforgettable setting for weddings, fundraisers, corporate events, and more. Just a short walk away, the Boathouse Theater serves as the community's performing arts center, hosting everything from live music to theater productions. The Grand Lawn, with its towering old-growth trees, offers groups the opportunity to spread out in the shade. There’s plenty of room for team-building activities, breakout sessions, or lunch.
Weddings & Private Events
Valhalla Tahoe provides a stunning backdrop for weddings and private events. Guests will be enchanted by the early 20th-century Scandinavian architecture of the Grand Hall, the expansive Grand Lawn, the historic pier, and the natural beach. Couples often describe their experience as magical, with many likening it to a fairytale. It’s a one-of-a-kind location for any special occasion.
Dedicated to Preservation
As a nonprofit organization, Valhalla Tahoe works in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service to preserve the Tallac Historic Site. Through our events and programs, we aim to ensure its legacy is protected and remains accessible for future generations.
