By Joining AAUW and our branch, AAUW Tahoe-Nevada, you belong to a community that breaks through educational and economic barriers so that all women and girls have a fair chance.  Our mission aligns with that of AAUW National: “To advance gender equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.”

The AAUW Tahoe Nevada branch focuses on Scholarships for local girls attending college.  We have a Program Series of speakers monthly.  We also have active special interest groups such as the Outdoor Enthusiasts, Cooking Club, Great Decisions and a Book Group. Adventure Scientists, a nonprofit organization dedicated to training and empowering outdoor enthusiasts to collect data that drives important conservation efforts. You can read about our current and former projects on our website. 

Over the past 15 years, we have helped over 2250 area families spay and neuter their pets. We sincerely hope that all pet owners will continue to make this a priority for their pets' health and to avoid bringing more unwanted pets into the community. 

As an all-volunteer organization, we are proud to have spent virtually all funds raised on veterinary bills for the spay/neuter program, with 10% going to the El Dorado County animal shelter - to those who have donated so generously over the years, we thank you most gratefully! Without your support, there would have been many more dogs and cats in south Tahoe facing an uncertain future. 

The Animal Coalition of Tahoe is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting the adoption, care and well being of companion animals in the South Tahoe area.

Founded in August 2005, Bee Inclined Quilters began with just four quilters for the purpose of promoting the art of quilting and giving back to the community. Over the years, they've donated to such worthwhile organizations as Sierra Community House and the Reno Initiative for Shelter and Equality (RISE), as well as causes the likes of the victims of the recent Lahaina fires (12 quilts), victims of the Joplin, Missouri tornado (37 quilts), and several quilts to Japan following the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The group sent quilts to New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy, and most recently the Bee Inclined Quilters made baby quilts for Casa de Vida (home for unwed teen mothers).

The Bee Inclined Quilters meet the third Thursday of each month at the Incline Village Library Community Room. 

Our mission is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. They promote & enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
