A good measure of a community’s heart and soul is its artists. A good place to find Truckee’s art and soul is Riverside Studios in historic downtown. Riverside Studios was born more than a decade ago in a small studio next to the Truckee River. It then grew into an artists’ co-op in a larger space, and now the Riverside Studios gallery can be found in the heart of Truckee. Riverside Studios is owned by five local artists specializing in handcrafted ceramics, metal work, leatherwork and jewelry. But the creativity doesn’t end there, as the gallery also features work from more than two dozen artists from around Truckee-Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra. Keep an eye open for in-gallery events that support the local art scene.
