When one of the greatest – and free! – amenities Tahoe restaurants have to offer their patrons is the world-renowned view, it stands to reason that outdoor dining is a thing here. Many Tahoe restaurants will have porch areas that are heated, extending their season.

22 Bistro is one of the first restaurant/bar options that you encounter when walking off the slopes and coming into the Village at Palisades Tahoe. One fun aspect of 22 (as it is affectionately known by locals) is that it caters to both higher-end tastes with a fine-dining menu while at the same time offering an array of quick-food options and après-ski drinks. Their outdoor seating is excellent for people watching, and it makes an easy-to-find meeting point. 22 offers summer and winter menus; one item that is included on both, and highly recommended, is the 22 Bistro Burger. Another benefit of 22 is their catering department that can accommodate large and small parties as well as weddings. The restaurant closes during the slow season of late October to mid-November.

Many of Tahoe’s restaurants have views of the lake, but only a handful can honestly be called lakefront. The Artemis Lakefront Cafe is one of these select eateries, located in the Ski Run Marina adjacent to the docks and with lake views from both the dining room and the outdoor dining patio. Serving Greek and Mediterranean dishes, this is a 2014 spin-off site from the...read more

Azul Latin Kitchen is in the Heavenly Village and features a type of food that they are calling California-style Mexican, for a lighter spin on Latin cuisine. But the emphasis on healthier dining doesn’t make this...read more

With its spot on the main corner of downtown Truckee, Bar of America’s location alone draws people through its doors. After 40 years in business, however, there is more to the place locals call “B of A” than where it stands (and, yes, B of A was once a Bank of America). Sure, the historic red brick building and large windows are authentically inviting, but...read more
