Truckee Tahoe Airport plays an active role in the Truckee community serving not only as an aviation resource for pilots and visitors, but also in providing other services such as making meeting space available for community and nonprofit groups and sponsoring guest speakers and lecturers. While the airport provides a wide range of services for those flying in and out of the area, it also offers amenities for the non-flying public as well including dining, flight instruction, glider tours and a children's playground. The airport hosts community events such as the Airshow and Family Festival.
