The food and service at Restaurant Trokay is what one would expect to find in Manhattan or Paris, but the ambiance and ingredients are all about Truckee and Northern California. Don’t let Trokay’s small, artfully presented plates fool you; the chef/owner is all about subtle-yet-huge tastes that satisfy the palate as well as the eye. The husband-and-wife owners hail from vaunted foodie establishments in New York City, so don’t be surprised — or intimidated — by the menu. What is an amuse-bouche? Don’t worry ... surely you won’t be the first to ask the wait staff. Trokay serves a la carte dishes along with an $85 seasonal prix fixe menu or a gourmet $145 chef's tasting menu. The wine list is extensive with a wait staff trained in pairing the selections to the cuisine. Restaurant Trokay also offers fun and entertaining cooking classes and events.
