Diamond Peak opened in November of 1966 at the forefront of snow technology, being the first resort in the West to have a snow-making system. It is known for being affordable, family-friendly, uncrowded and – most of all – for its breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe. With 655 acres of skiable terrain, it’s got a good mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain. It’s also a great place for kids or adults to learn to ski or snowboard with an award-winning ski school providing group or private lessons and a lift dedicated just for beginners. Those more advanced can enjoy the 1,840-foot vertical drop from a summit elevation of 8,540 feet, more than two dozen runs accessed from seven lifts and the Village Terrain Park. The Diamond Peak Rental & Repair Shop offers standard skis and boards for rent or the latest demos. It’s not all about the snow though. Check out the Base Lodge Provisions for a hearty breakfast or lunch and the Loft Bar at Base Lodge for a great selection of craft beers. Or stop in mid-mountain at the Snowflake Lodge and Wild Bill's BBQ to warm yourself by their fire, grab some food or even a drink at the Million Dollar View Bar and take in more of that stunning view from their wrap-around deck. Whether you’re just starting out on a snowboard or have been skiing for years, Diamond Peak is a great place to learn or advance your skills while viewing the natural splendor that is Lake Tahoe.
