Deerfield Lodge has seen a lot in its five decades at South Lake Tahoe, and that includes a fire that resulted in the closing of the lodge for a year and a half. The silver lining of that event, at least for visitors to Lake Tahoe, is that the boutique hotel has reopened with brand-new suites and fresh decor. The accommodations begin at the king rooms and move up from there through a range of suites that tops off with the Heavenly Suite; all rooms include a fireplace and kitchenette, and some enjoy a Jacuzzi tub and washer/dryer setups.
