Moody’s in downtown Truckee is all about the three Bs – bistro, bar and beats. In fact, that’s the popular establishment’s formal name: Moody’s Bistro, Bar & Beats (but locals just call it Moody’s). Occupying the lower half of the historic (and maybe haunted) Truckee Hotel, Moody’s is open for lunch, dinner and late-night grooving to live jazz. Not hungry enough for a full meal? Grab a place at the bar with a friend, order a craft beer or custom cocktail and share a selection from the small-plate menu. If a full dinner is the plan for the night, Moody’s dining room can accommodate larger groups of diners yet retains a cozy feel. Moody’s emphasized farm-to-fork ingredients before it was a thing. And just like its food, the live music is tastefully curated and presented in the bar and lounge.
