Chinese fast food is definitely easier to find in the lower elevations than in the high-altitude mountain towns, but it does have representation in South Lake Tahoe in the form of Jade Garden. They serve large portions of inexpensive food, and it’s a popular spot among the locals looking for a quick meal that won’t break the bank. The coconut shrimp dish has a lot of fans, and one insider tip for eating here is that the combo plates are more cost effective, but ordering a la carte can get you a meal that is a little more freshly prepared.
