Hunan Garden of Lake Tahoe is near the Y and just a short way toward Emerald Bay. While located in an older building (Hunan Garden has been here for decades) with a dark exterior, the interior is actually well-lit and friendly. Diners can order from the menu or take advantage of the Chinese buffet, and it is often better to show up earlier than later because the medium-small dining room can fill up as the evening moves along. In fact, if you can’t find parking in the front, you may need to edge your way around to the back. Perhaps the most popular dish is the wings, although the pot stickers are a close second. And, better yet, the pricing is particularly friendly to your wallet.
