The Great Gatsby Living History Festival at Tallac Historic Site is the cat’s meow. It’s an annual August event at Tahoe which captures the magic of the 1920s through vintage car shows, antiques and tours of the historic Pope and Baldwin estates led by costumed tour guides. Other offerings include music, food, a raffle, jugglers, face painting, vendors and vintage auto rides. Guests are encouraged to don their best Gatsby-inspired attire. The festival is free, but visitors can pay to attend the special the Gatsby Tea and Fashion Show, which includes food and “bootleg” champagne. This day-long event is held over the second weekend each August.
