The first Starbucks opened at South Shore in 1997 and the number of local coffeehouses has bloomed ever since, with Kingsbury Grade as the notable exception. Until now. Clyde's Coffee Roasting Company has opened in the former location of Thai One On, and the space really is better suited to the new business. The atmosphere draws from influences that include the Southwest, the Northwest and the Sierra Nevada in a sort of Tahoe chic. The pastries and baked goods are from Schat's Bakery. The coffee beans are actually roasted onsite, often by the shop's namesake.
