Lake Tahoe is known for being a sleeper downwind destination, and it attracts paddlers on prowl for high winds, good fetch and a gorgeous environment to enjoy all of it in. Ride the bumps the wind provides, blowing (usually) out of the south, then southwest and south again, as you make your way around Lake Tahoe's West Shore. Tahoe Waterman Paddle Racing hosts this event for any forward-facing paddle craft, and they share great tips for navigating the waters when the wind's up. This Lake Tahoe annual event usually occurs in mid-July.
