Rotary Duck Race Evolves to Rotary Duck Drop –
For more than 20 years, the Rotary Club of Incline Village (RCIV) has held a 4th of July Rubber Duck Race as an annual fundraiser. During this event, ducks floated down the crystal clear Third Creek in Incline Village to the delight of kids and adults alike.
Due to COVID, the Rotary Club of Incline Village pivoted to a new date and event, still featuring those cute ducks and pumping even more fun into the event!
For the second year, the Duck event is a Duck Drop being held 10/8/21 (originally scheduled for Labor Day). It will begin at 9 am on Preston Field.
Thanks to two great partnerships with North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District and the Incline Village General Improvement District, the Duck Race is now a Duck Drop. NLTFPD will use their specialty ladder truck and fire crew work to hoist large buckets of numbered rubber ducks to drop them onto a target below; The winning ducks are those closest to the target. In 2020 the event had seven heats, a final Drop, and a Platinum Duck Drop. The proceeds accumulated to over $18,000, a club all-time high. This has since funded many local and some international projects & grants.
The Prizes are $1000 for the Grand Prize, $500 – 2nd Prize, $250 – 3rd Prize, and each heat winner gets $100. The Platinum Duck Drop winner gets half of the prize pot up to $7500!
Prices are $10 per ticket, 3 for $20 and for the high rollers, Platinum duck tickets are $100 each.
Please help us continue to support our community, local businesses, and global projects by buying Duck Tickets at Incline Cleaners, The Potlatch and at ACE Hardware Duck Sales tables each weekend up to the Labor Day event.
