On April 21, 2022 Dr. Chan Hellman will be at the Lake Tahoe School to present a FREE community event on 'The Science of Hope'.

Dr. Hellman will speak about the application of hope theory to those impacted by trauma and adversity. Additionally, Hellman will discuss the impact of prevention and intervention services on increasing and sustaining client hope.
While he is here, the Incline Education Fund will be sponsoring Dr. Hellman on Wednesday, April 20 to speak to Incline High School students, Incline Middle and High School staff as well as spending time with Incline Schools counselors and Incline Elementary School teachers.
Chan M. Hellman, PhD. is a professor of social work at the University of Oklahoma and Director of The Hope Research Center. He has written more than 150 scientific publications and has presented at numerous national and international conferences worldwide. Dr. Hellman also presented his work on hope with TEDx in May of 2021.
Dr. Hellman’s research is focused on hope as a psychological strength helping children and adults overcome trauma and adversity. This research informed the development of the “Hope Centered and Trauma Informed®” training program. He is the co-author of the award-winning book “Hope Rising: How the Science of Hope Can Change Your Life” with his co-author Casey Gwinn, published by Morgan James.
