The meat department at La Mexicana has been open since 1997 and specializes in custom cut meats following our Mexican traditions. It was modeled after our large meat department in our Norwalk, California store. The meat department features all kinds of meat, poultry, and seafood that you would find in a typical carniceria in Mexico.
The bakery at La Mexicana has been open since the inception of the market in 1996. It was started by two father and son bakers from Guanajuato, Mexico, Dionicio and Jose-Luis Pena. The bakery specializes in authentic Mexican bread and has a loyal customer following throughout all of the Lake Tahoe and Truckee areas. If you come by and visit La Mexicana you will smell the fresh bread being baked daily and customers waiting to take home these delicious treats.
