Nethathai Chanajon (known as Luakeye) is a Tahoe-based designer, illustrator, and filmmaker whose work bridges storytelling, visual design, and community experience. With a background in creative direction and visual media, she brings a multidisciplinary approach to projects that combine art, narrative, and everyday life.
Her recent project, Ski With Dad, is a self-published children’s book inspired by family experiences on the slopes in the Tahoe region. Designed to introduce young children to skiing in an engaging and approachable way, the book reflects the connection between outdoor culture and family bonding. Through expressive illustration and simple storytelling, Ski With Dad captures familiar moments shared between parents and children—from first attempts on the snow to building confidence on the mountain. The project draws from Chanajon’s experience in visual storytelling and her interest in creating meaningful, accessible content for families.
Since its release, the book has been shared within the local Tahoe and Truckee community, including at public events, where it has received positive responses from families. Some parents noted that the story helped their children feel more comfortable and excited about learning to ski.
