Za’s Lakefront has been a beloved name in Tahoe City, CA, since the late 1990s. Anyone who spent time in North Lake Tahoe during that era will remember Za’s as a cozy, laid-back spot where families and friends could gather for great food and a welcoming atmosphere.
In 2005, owner and chef Jonny Roscher closed Za’s to pursue an exciting opportunity as a private chef for the John Force Race Team. After years of life on the road, Jonny felt the pull to return to Tahoe, and in 2013, he reopened Za’s at its original location behind Pete ‘n Peters in downtown Tahoe City. The revived menu brought back old favorites while introducing fresh, travel-inspired creations from Jonny’s culinary journey.
In the summer of 2018, Za’s found a new home at a stunning lakefront location in Tahoe City, tripling its dining space and elevating the experience. Today, Za’s Lakefront continues to embody its signature mountain-casual vibe while offering lunch, dinner, a full bar, and arguably the best lakefront views in North Lake Tahoe.
