Tahoe City Summer Activities

Ed Z'Berg Sugar Pine Point State Park is your best bet for winter camping. Also open with a larger selection of sites in the summer, the park is positioned to take advantage of both the beautiful natural setting of Lake Tahoe and the historic aspects. Within the park is access to the Hellman-Ehrmann Mansion that was built in 1903. The property is still exquisitely maintained and is an excellent representation of the wealthy side of Tahoe. Tours are offered during the summer by Sierra State Parks Foundation (sierrastateparks.org). There are various trailheads, swimming beaches and great fishing within the park as well as a Nature Center that helps visitors identify the local flora and fauna. In the winter the foundation hosts full moon snowshoe expeditions, and this is a great place for sledding and snowshoeing. Dogs are allowed on leash only. Visitors should remember to pack it in, pack it out and leave no trace. An entrance fee is charged. 

North Tahoe Watersports brings you the fun of Lake Tahoe in a safe and exciting way. Specializing in parasailing, the company offers high-flying adventures over Lake Tahoe in all three of its locations. In addition to parasailaing, North Tahoe Watersports offers boat rentals and jet ski rentals at its two Tahoe City locations and jet ski rentals and kayak and SUP rentals at its Kings Beach location. North Tahoe Watersports also offers private lake tours, bringing you to all of the magical parts of Lake Tahoe.

Tahoe Art Haus & Cinema is not a regular movie theater. With leather rocking seats and comfy couches in the theater and a bar serving beer and wine in the lobby, this hip space takes going to a movie to a whole new level of fun. The Art Haus hosts major motion pictures as well as independent films, ski flicks and environmental films. The space may be rented for a large party or custom film showing. The bar has eight beers, cider and soft kombucha on tap as well as serves wine, Prosecco and sake. Don't forget to season your popcorn at the popular popcorn spice bar. The Art Haus' big fall/winter 2024-25 movies include Joker: Folie a Deux, Matchstick Productions' ski movie premier, Wicked and Mufasa.

The Tahoe Symphony Orchestra is on a mission to raise awareness and appreciation of classical orchestral and choral music in the greater Reno-Tahoe area by bringing quality, affordable live performances to intimate, local venues and providing an opportunity for accomplished, Tahoe-area musicians to display and develop their talents. Upcoming concerts include Handel's Messiah and Holiday Favorites in December 2024, EPIC with Guest Soloist in February 2025 and a concert opera in the spring of 2025. Founded in 2005 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit musical arts organization, the Tahoe Symphony has a worldwide footprint, having performed shows around the globe, including Italy, Salzburg-Prague, Slovakia/Hungary, southern France and more. Those younger than age 23 always get in free, and a senior’s discount is available for all shows.
