Heavenly Mountain Resort is omnipresent at South Tahoe. Along with the casinos on the Nevada side of South Shore, the ski resort drives the economy of this small Sierra community. Heavenly’s California Lodge was the resort’s original mountain base area, located nearly a straight shot up the hill from the lakeside Ski Run Marina. Appropriate for skiers of all skill levels, just about all ski services are available here, and it also provides access to the entire mountain by way of the Gunbarrel Express or the Aerial Tram. Boulder Lodge on the Nevada side is also a good area for those of any skill level, while Nevada’s Stagecoach Lodge provides access to intermediate and advanced skiing, and all of the entire mountain can be reached from both lodges. A popular aspect of the Heavenly Mountain Resort is the Gondola, with a launch point practically at street level in South Lake Tahoe. Based out of the Heavenly Village, which offers amenities of all kinds, the Gondola takes guests up the mountain to Tamarack Lodge and Adventure Peak where skiers of all skill levels can access the entirety of the ski area. Terrain parks and a tubing hill are also part of the snow sports offerings.
A Heavenly Mountain Resort Summer
Summertime at Heavenly Mountain Resort offers an entirely different range of activity and recreation including a climbing wall, zip lines and ropes courses, hiking, biking and trail running. Whether you're a skier or a sightseer, a trip to the top is a must-do activity for the 180 degree view of Lake Tahoe from most of the resort. To say that it’s breathtaking is too much of a cliché. Take our word for it: Just don’t miss it.
