As far as many people are concerned, the Truckee real estate market offers the best of all possible worlds. At one end of the area is the Northstar resort with accompanying housing suitable to a premier ski destination. At the other end is a historic (yet modern!) small mountain town that regularly ranks among the most attractive places to call home. Scattered throughout is some of the most beautiful scenery that the Sierra Nevada has to offer, and all of this located conveniently to Reno, just a short drive from Lake Tahoe or a quick hop over the hill to Sacramento and beyond. Northstar real estate centers around the many amenities associated with this world-class resort. Truckee real estate is also full of surprises, such as entire neighborhoods tucked away out of sight of the main driving arteries through the region. There are entire communities amidst the meadows and forests of the area. When you also consider the Donner Lake residences, you begin to realize the vast potential that exists here in the field of buying, selling, leasing and renting houses and homes. Whether it is an ultra-luxurious ski condo, a classic lakeside cabin, a kicky apartment in the historic district or a cozy family homestead, Truckee real estate professionals can probably find the home that is just right for you.
Schools Within the Truckee Real Estate Market
The Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District encompasses a number of the different communities in this region. The district schools within the Truckee real estate market include some three neighborhood elementary schools, a middle school and a high school as well as alternative education middle and high schools. The Truckee schools are fairly well spread out, with the middle school several miles distant from the high school, reinforcing the fact that outside of a nice stroll through historic downtown, this isn't exactly an area convenient for pedestrians.
