If small-batch whiskeys and gins make you smile, the cocktail offerings are sure to please. As a grill, the restaurant’s steaks and chicken entrees are sublimely cooked on a wood-fired grill. Since all offerings are made with fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, the menu changes daily. But don’t let the elegant menu and surroundings fool you; stop into the Truckee Tavern & Grill on Thursdays for Burger and Beer Night, which offers $2 off burgers and a buck off a beer. Wednesdays are Wine Night, when a bottle of wine is 10 percent off and glasses of wine get a $1 discount. Happy hour is Sunday through Thursday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the bar.
