Truckee Pro Rodeo

The Historic McIver Arena, 10695 Brockway Road, Truckee, CA

If you like the feeling of balancing atop of a bucking bull or racing around barrels while on horseback, the annual Truckee Pro Rodeo is for you. This Lake Tahoe annual event has been held for more than 40 years and welcomes talented cowboys and cowgirls from all over the region. Participants and spectators are invited to join an all-day event of all things rodeo. The Truckee Pro Rodeo is the product of the Truckee Pro Rodeo Association, which is made up entirely of volunteers. Events and festivities associated with the rodeo are held in the week leading up to the Pro Rodeo, such as a day of activities just for kids and the barbecue dinner-barrel racing evening. For the two-day rodeo itself, come out for an exciting day of watching calf roping, bull riding, saddle bronc riding and more. You can also check out the vendors of local Tahoe businesses that will be present at the event, selling wares and summertime foods. Kids even have the opportunity to try to ride a sheep as long as they can, and it gets pretty competitive. This Lake Tahoe annual event usually takes place in late August, and ticket purchase is recommended ahead of time.
