The Rainbow Tavern & Lodge oozes history. The lodge was built in 1869 from local granite and the same hand-hewn logs used to build the Trans-Sierra Railroad. Sitting on more than 100 acres, this is the perfect place to get away from it all in winter or summer, while still being close enough to ski resorts, hiking and mountain biking trails, and swimming in the Yuba River. Coming from the west, it's just before you get to Truckee. The lodge is the ideal venue for a corporate retreat or a day-long meeting, and the grounds and interior make for a lovely wedding setting. The 27 guest rooms can accommodate 65 people. The restaurant and bar are no longer open to the public daily but are open on select event dates.
