Fallen Leaf Campground, a part of the USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, is located on National Forest lands and is an excellent place to enjoy the beauty of Tahoe while stepping away from the busy-ness that can sometimes occupy Lake Tahoe. Fallen Leaf Lake is adjacent to Lake Tahoe and offers a large trail network that accesses the top of Mt. Tallac as well as Desolation Wilderness. This is an excellent campground for hiking as well as fishing, with Fallen Leaf Lake only a few minutes walk away. The campground is nestled within dense forest and offers 206 sites varying between RV, tent and yurt options. The yurts sleep five to six people comfortably and are outfitted with bunk beds. The campsites have campfire rings, grills, picnic tables and bear boxes for food. You'll find potable water, coin showers and public bathrooms for guest use. There is also a general store selling wood and necessities. This is a summer-only campground.
