TART, or Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit, is the free public bus service that connects the North Tahoe and Truckee communities and winter sports areas. TART has routes connecting the West Shore, Tahoe City, Squaw Valley, Incline Village and Truckee and all of the places in between. During both winter and summer, TART offers a free night shuttle service known as the Night Rider. Routes and schedules are often undergoing changes in order to provide the best service for residents and visitors, so the best bet for up-to-date information is to contact TART directly. There is a Tahoe City Transit Center that acts as a transfer station as well as a bus route information center with a waiting area, bike lockers, bathrooms and automated TART pass vending machines.
