Tahoe House Bakery & Gourmet, a family-owned restaurant since 1977, is one of the favorite local places for getting a cup of tasty coffee or a freshly made sandwich. Their Swiss coffeemaker creates each cup of coffee for the individual. The bakery has the freshest bread around, with the bakers rising at 2 a.m. to start the different styles of breads that are part of the reason their sandwiches are so good. They also bake incredible pastries, cookies and sweets. Beyond the freshly created yumminess, there's a small gourmet grocery section that lets you bring home Tahoe House's specialty sauces, marinades and dressings. In fact, there are more than 32 different flavors to try, each never to be found anywhere else. One other bonus of the Tahoe House is that they put together complete gourmet meals ready for you to take home and serve. There is a small indoor and outdoor sitting area to enjoy your Tahoe House treat if you're not in too much of a hurry to get out into the great outdoors.
