Tahoe City takes the Fourth of July pretty seriously. In fact they’ve been taking it seriously for more than 70 years. With so much experience under their belts, you know that they have the art of Independence Day celebrations down. This Lake Tahoe annual event lasts all day and starts with family fun on the North Shore. From there, people can browse the Fourth of July-themed merchandise and find that festive Bald Eagle t-shirt. Enjoy the food and activities offered on Commons Beach and throughout town where you can join hula-hoop contests and munch on hot dogs. Dance in the street to the live music provided by local musicians. Sample brews at the beer and wine garden. When the sun finally sets and the sky darkens, gather with your family and friends at Commons Beach for the fireworks display. If you think Lake Tahoe is beautiful in the daylight, wait til you see it reflecting bursts of red, white and blue explosions. This is a family-friendly Fourth of July celebration that shouldn’t be missed.
