Sunnyside Restaurant and Lodge is one of the best lakeside dining options in Lake Tahoe. The lodge itself is pretty small, with only 23 rooms available to guests. Each room is situated perfectly to take advantage of swimming, boating and enjoying lovely Tahoe sunsets. The rooms are directly connected to the extensive dining room. The restaurant is two different entities with two different kitchens. When entering the establishment, the left side of the restaurant is considered the casual section, offering a huge bar as well as food such as tacos, burgers and chicken wings. On the right side is the fine-dining restaurant, which is internationally known for its extensive wine list, imaginative organic dishes and elegant atmosphere. Both sides have large outdoor decks to accommodate the summer crowds. Another aspect that is offered on both sides (as well as at Sunnyside's sister restaurant, Jake's On The Lake in Tahoe City) and should not be missed is their famous Hula Pie. A scrumptious gathering of Oreo cookie, vanilla ice cream, chocolate, hot fudge and whipped cream, this dessert is meant to be shared.
