Privately owned and operated by the homeowners in the Village at Sugar Bowl, Sugar Bowl Resort has attracted skiers and snowboarders to the top of Donner Summit for nearly 75 years. As a Tahoe-area resort that consistently collects great stashes of snow, Sugar Bowl boasts four distinct peaks and an open-boundary policy for backcountry access. Other unique features include a scenic gondola ride into the car-free village and lodge and the vast Royal Gorge cross-country ski resort and its 200 km of groomed XC trails. On Sugar Bowl’s slopes you’ll find 1,500 vertical feet and 103 rails on 1,650 skiable acres. All that is accessed by 13 lifts, five of which are high-speed express quads. Sugar Bowl’s terrain is a mix, with almost half geared to intermediate skiers and riders, 38 percent toward advanced guests and 17 percent to beginners. Those with stronger skills can partake in terrain park features at the Switching Yard off Mt. Judah Express. Beyond their impressive skiing and snowboarding features, Sugar Bowl has a robust village offering retail shops, lodging, fantastic dining options and fun summer activities as well as summer camps.
