Stony Ridge Uncommon Kitchen (known as simply Uncommon Kitchen) is a must visit for those who love organic, locally grown food made with love. Uncommon Kitchen creates meals with the motto of "making food that is made with integrity, while filling up your appetite and satisfying your soul." Open for lunch Monday through Friday and providing ready-made items in their refrigerator case, they make all of their recipes at the Tahoe City restaurant and make a point of using only real food, i.e., no processed, packaged or nutrient-deprived food substitutes. Because of this mindset, Uncommon Kitchen is considered to be one of the best options for eating out in Lake Tahoe. Although it isn't a real restaurant (it's more like a deli, with only a few tables and a location within New Moon health-food store), it serves dishes that deserve a five-star rating. A few worth trying include sushi, fish tacos and a Thai bowl.
