An obstacle course like no other, the Spartan Race is a 13.5-mile competition that puts contestants at their limits. Bringing together you, the great outdoors and an open trail, the Spartan Race creates a course that is demanding and exhilarating, incorporating such obstacles as wall scaling, rope climbs, a swim, carrying barrels, sled pulls, a mud challenge, tire flips, spear throwing and more. The day is not one just for participants, though. The World Championships is also a day for spectators. With a fantastic day of live music, raffles, entertainment and festival challenges, the event is a smorgasbord of fun times. From watching impressive athletes dominate the magnificent Palisades Tahoe terrain to taking in the vibe with great music surrounding you, the day is certain to be spectacular. All are invited to join in the competition, with both an elite category and an age category. Registration for this late September event opens at 6:30 a.m., with the race beginning at 2:30 p.m. The age categories for the Spartan race range from age 14 to 60+.
