It’s the holiday season, and that means it’s time to get started on that shopping list (well, for those of us who are last-minute types). Instead of braving the crowded shopping malls, you can enjoy a stress-free shopping experience at Truckee Soroptishop. Vendors of local businesses set up shop, leaving you free to browse through clothes, accessories, jewelry, arts, crafts, home décor, gourmet foods and more. With the beautiful products and calm atmosphere surrounding you, you can cross off names on your Naughty or Nice list with ease. Savor appetizers (Christmas cookies, perhaps?) and sip wine as you shop, and pause to chat with the business owners and artists. This is Soroptimist International of Truckee Donner’s second-largest annual fundraiser, and all proceeds from this event benefit and empower women and youth in the community. Soroptishop takes place on a day in late November or early December, and shoppers pay an entrance fee at the door. Come on out, get a start on your holiday shopping and support a good cause.
