Celebrate snow and winter with the largest winter festival west of the Mississippi River. This Lake Tahoe annual event is held in late February or early March and features 10 days and nights of activities and events centered around snow. Throughout North Lake Tahoe, shops, resorts, restaurants and other businesses offer specials and happenings to help celebrate the event. Each SnowFest offers a seemingly endless array of events including returning favorites as well as new ones. There are parades, races, parties, concerts, theater performances and more. Athletes love events like the Polar Bear Swim. Culinary artists can show off their skills at chili cook-offs. Animal lovers get a kick out of the Dress Up Your Dog contest. Some SnowFest activities are free and others require ticket purchase or an admission fee.
