At the Village Pet Foundation Thrift Store in Incline Village, shoppers will find gently used clothing, housewares, working electronics and much more. The furniture gallery within the Thrift Store is packed to the gills with high-quality home furnishings, from sofas, chairs, tables and dressers to artwork and home accessories. The store hosts frequent sales and sometimes offers Sip and Shop events where customers pay a nominal fee for a glass of wine and the opportunity to shop collections early. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for alerts. Unpaid volunteers staff the Thrift Store, which is always looking for more volunteers and gently used donations.
By shopping here and donating to the foundation, you can help pet owners and animals in the community. The foundation helps families and individuals who are struggling to pay for veterinary bills for their sick or suffering pets and also loans "wheelies," which are wheelchairs for pets who have mobility issues. Every dollar raised (or donated) goes back to helping families in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Village Pet Foundation offers grants to help cover the expenses, and the money goes directly to the veterinarian. Certain criteria must be met to qualify for a grant.
