The Tahoe City Farmers Market, located directly on the shores of Lake Tahoe in the Commons Beach parking lot, is a fun place to discover the variety of fresh produce available in Northern California. Operating from mid-May through mid-October on Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., vendors sell fruit, vegetables, flowers, eggs, nuts, honey, bread and meats. Artisans are also part of the event: from professional knife sharpening to home and kitchen goods. It's possible to pick up some prepared foods for the day or fresh ingredients to take home to whip into a meal.
