If you are staying at the Resort at Squaw Creek or in Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley) and are looking for an upscale sports bar, then Sandy’s Pub is your ticket. The pub is an homage to Sandy Poulsen, a local girl raised in Squaw Valley. The Poulsen family are some of the founding members of the creation of the ski area, and there are historical photos outside the restaurant highlighting the story. The dining experience has a typical pub menu with burgers and fries and fish and chips. Locals recommend the baby back ribs, as they were once voted “People’s Choice” at the Truckee River Festival. There are six large flat-screen TVs for sporting events, and there is also a huge patio for outdoor seating and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. Sandy’s is open for food until midnight unless it is slow season (October and November).
